5Great Replacement For Original XBox FanNov 30, 2010
By MikeInRI
I bought this to replace the noisy fan in my original XBOX. This fan is MUCH quieter, and provides more than enough air flow to keep the cpu cool. I'd say at full speed this fan makes the same noise as the original did at about 15%. I run XBMC, and have it control the fan speed based on temp, with this in control I can NEVER even hear this fan!

Install was much easier than using an 80mm fan that I see on some mod tutorials. I didn't have to modify the xbox at all. All I had to do was take a rat tail file, and file away the bottom support posts on the fan itself to allow room for the fan support tabs on the xbox (yes, I left those in place in case I need to re-mount the original fan again). Put everything back together and viola super-quiet and cool xbox!

5My loud ole' Acer got quiet as a mouseOct 15, 2010
By VinylMan
My Acer Aspire E360 Desktop Computer has always had three fans speeds. Annoying, loud, and damn loud. Normally it spent most of its time in the two less loud speeds. But, recently a power flicker somehow changed things so that the computer started to spend most of its time in the two louder modes. The noise was so unbearable that I was shopping for a new computer, just to get rid of the noise.

I ran across a fan called the Nexus 70mm Silent Case Fan. I put in an order and it was delivered promptly. It came without screws, and since it is thicker than my old fan, the old screws would not work with the new fan. Fortunately, I had an assortment of sheet metal screws on hand and I forced four of them into the heat sink screw holes and attached the new fan.

Now, my old Acer is quiet. I can hardly tell when the fan switches speeds. If the disk didn't constantly click and clack I would forget that the computer is on. Its just quite. This $15 fan (including shipping) has likely added another two or three years of life to the aging Acer.

Bottom line: If your heatsink fan is noisy, replace it with this fan. It will be the best $15 you ever spent on your computer. Just remember to order some screws to go with it.

I purchased this to replace the stock fan in my DiskStation DS209 which had started making these awful noises. It truly is silent and fit perfectly. I'm very happy with this purchase.

5Great for TiVo HD fan replacement.Mar 22, 2013

The OEM worked but started buzzing so I replaced it with this.It is even quieter than the original! You only need to connect the Red and Black wires. Seems like a high quality fan.

5Great TiVo HD replacement fanAug 30, 2013
By SDGuy
I used this to replace the noisy (intermittent whines and buzzes) fan in our TiVo HD. As another reviewer noted, you only need to plug in the part of the fan's plug that engages the red and black wires. There was only one minor issue: this fan seems to be slightly thinner than the original. The screws from the original fan did not grip the TiVo case tightly, so I used some bumper pads to offset the fan a little bit. (Tiny washers or carefully folded & positioned pieces of cardboard would probably also work.) The fan is extremely quiet and keeps the TiVo noticeably cooler to the touch.
